I hate my car. I replaced the power steering pump two weeks ago and its broke again!..i guess for a 10 year old car things will go wrong but it just sucks when its a weekend that i have to work and have alot to do. I shouldnt complain because some people dont even have a car and they manage with the trains and buses right??

Sitting in traffic sucks…

friendship? HA!

well let me start this off by the toast that i hear everynight in the dinning room at work. “there are good ships, and wood ships, and ships that sail the sea, but the best ships are friendships and that may always be.” 

There are friends whom I can keep a mature relationship and there are those who only use you and keep you there for their own beneficial purposes. When it comes down to it, when they find the least use of you, they turn their backs and leave you in the middle of the storm. They are the backstabbing, insecure people who you’ve grown so ‘accustomed’ to that you forget what ‘friendship’ really means… thinking of them as friends when even the slightest element of a real ‘friendship’ was never really apparent.
Many of those people I’ve called “friends” for so long… we never really shared an apparent ‘friendship’ type of relationship. We may have used and abused one another, kept one another ‘company,’ but never had the sort of ‘unconditional care’ that friends should truly give to one another. Instead, it is a feeling of turmoil and constant let-downs and anger that truly fuels these types of relationships — turning our backs dozens of times and playing foolish friends when face to face.

56 hour work week...day off...and repeat!

well iv been super busy this past week and weekend working my FUCKIN’ ass off.more 16 hour days then i can remember haha. saturday put me over the top with 19 hours in one day..but you know what? i love every damn minute of it. seeing hundreds of people come on and off the boat with their kids and the big smiles that they hold are priceless.

Today was my day off to “relax”. i couldn’t really relax since i had to go to the city and pick up my pay check, then go shopping for something to wear to the season kick off party at work tomorrow night. atleast my check was higher than i expected, i can actully pay my credit card bill on time now haha. I ALWAYS drive to the city but today i decided not to be lazy since it was such a warm day outside. me and carol took the train to get our checks then we went downtown to the south street seaport. i pass it every night while im on the boat but you cannot fully enjoy the view unless your standing at the edge of the pier with a camera in one hand and the best fucking girlfriend in the world around holding your other hand. what more can i ask for than a girl who understands working on a boat requires LONG hours, getting very DIRTY, ALOT of cursing…but still loves me anyway.

Tomorrow is the official start to the 2008 season here at spirit. we are conducting numerous drills tomorrow with the newly hired deckhands. most fo them have never stepped foot on a boat before. thats okay with me because it makes me feel really good handing down my knowledge to other people so they can enjoy the job just as much as i do…tomorrow we are doing man overboard drills, fire drills, and anchor drills. man overboard drills requires a big rubber flotation suit to be worn(sort of like a wet suit) and us jumping into the water to save someone haha.if its done correctly it can be alot of fun…after that we have a big company meeting and then the season kick off party.

Its been awhile

Haven’t kept up with this latly,been pretty busy working. i had to work all of easter weekend. it wasnt that bad i couldnt be with my family but work is what i live for, i enjoy every minute of it, good or bad. tomorrow i finally get to pick up my diploma, its only 7 months late!! haha.
